We Remember

LANTHIER, David Ronald

January 23, 1943 — February 25, 2026

David Ronald Lanthier, 83, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, in Kelowna, British Columbia, surrounded by family. Born on January 23, 1943, in Cranbrook, British Columbia, David lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his work, and his faith.

David’s professional journey was one of hard work and entrepreneurial spirit. He began his career serving as an assistant manager and later manager at various Stedman stores across Canada, including locations in Drumheller, Alberta, and Rosetown, Saskatchewan. His career eventually brought him to High Level, where he and his beloved wife Faith established Lanthier Business Services. Together, they provided tax preparation services and operated a Motor Vehicle Branch. David’s expertise in accounting and business continued to flourish as the family later relocated to Rocky Mountain House and eventually settled in West Kelowna. Over the years, David became widely known as an accomplished accountant, tax preparer, businessman, and entrepreneur.

Beyond his professional achievements, David was a man of intelligence and wit who cherished time with his family. He shared a devoted partnership with his wife, Faith and took great pride in their life together. David is survived by his wife Faith; his brother Donald; his sons Stephan (Carol), Brian (Jennifer), and Matthew (Heidi); grandchildren Ryan, Chelsey, Breana, Nolan, Caitlin, Kiryn, and Alicia; and great-grandson Jace. He was predeceased by his parents, Felix and Jeannette.

David found joy in gold panning, bowling, stamp and coin collecting and researching his family’s history. He was also a man of faith who worshipped at Emmanuel Church in West Kelowna.

David’s memory will be cherished by all who knew him for his sharp mind, quick wit, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. May his legacy bring comfort to those who mourn his passing.

Heartfelt condolences Faith and family. Bryan and David got along great in accounting business and he always valued their friendship. It was a pleasant time later in life watching each others grandkids compete in ice hockey. I am so blessed you both could come to Bryan’s funeral in January. May God comfort you at this time.

  • Mona and Terry Hudson says:

  • Don Lanthier says:

I was deeply saddened to hear of the loss of my brother, David R Lanthier. He was a kind, caring gentle brother who taught me a lot including accounting principles when I worked for Lanthier Business Services in High Level Alberta. David was a devout and peaceful Christian and he shared his life experiences genuinely and with compassion. I will miss his jokes and his caring way. Rest easy big brother, your time here on earth was spent wisely and I will miss you more than words can convey.

  • Lanthier Louise says:

All my sympathies to Faith and her children. I will always remember our very nice meeting when you travel in Quebec Province and our genealogic research. If you need, I can be your translator for the french document like I did for David.
