LAVOIE, Eric Joseph Germain

January 3, 1976 — February 10, 2016

 

Went to be with the Lord on February 10, 2016 at the age of 40. Survived by his loving wife Sophy Lavoie and parents Roger and Pierrette Lavoie; his daughter Christina Richard; sons: Noah Ballentyne, Chris Richard, Evan Richard; grandchildren: Zoyie and Emiliya; brother: Pascal Lavoie and his daughters Emily, Grace and Amber and brother Martin Lavoie, cousins Matthew and Karin and others not mentioned by name but Eric loved his cousins and uncles and aunts and several community young adults.

Sadly predeceased by his maternal grandfather Germain Lepage and maternal grandma Lucienne Lepage and Auntie Estel Lavoie and paternal grandfather Andre Lavoie.

Eric Joseph Germain Lepage-Lavoie was taken too soon at the age of 40 years old. Eric was born January 3rd, 1976 and joined the Lord on February 10th, 2016. Eric was a loving, caring man and the Best Father out there.

Eric loved spending his time with his family, and teaching his family his core values his grandparents taught him. Eric was the middle brother, Eldest Pascal and youngest Martin Lavoie. Eric’s parents Pierrete Roger Lavoie. Eric left home St. Jerome Quebec at an early age then met Sophy Richard-Lavoie in 2002 and was hooked ever since. Sophy’s three kids, Christina, Christopher and Evan Richard as well as mother Dimitria and Father Peter Kapeleris, and Eric was on board teaching the three kids as well as his biological son Noah Ballentyne who Eric adored as his true Rainbow in life.

Watching the kids grow was special to Eric along with all of the life skills he taught them. Eric faced his cancer in a strong faith getting ready to meet Jesus at the River. His strong faith kept him positive and he was able to enjoy life to the fullest enduring difficult times as a warrior. Eric had the opportunity to teach and nurture many teens who needed help in life along the way Sophy when Eric became grandpa his heart filled a special spot for Zoyie and Emiliya. Eric Lavoie will be greatly missed by many for his positive outlook on life and his strong faith to move forward.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 4:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC with Pastor Jan officiating. Should family and friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to www.gofundme.com/Sophy-amp-Eric.
