September 25, 1932 — September 26, 2021
The family would like to invite all who want to pay their respects to join online by Livestream to view the Funeral Service on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2021 at 1:00 pm PDT (see below). A recording will be made available to view shortly thereafter.
It is with profound sadness that we wish to announce the passing of our Mom, Grace Marie (née McLean) Leask. Due to complications as a result of dialysis, she passed on her own terms on Sunday, September 26, 2021, peacefully in her sleep just one day past her 89th birthday.
Predeceased by her husband Earle (d. 2001), Grace is survived by her much-loved family including five children Janice (Pat), JoAnn (Ken), Cathie (Bob), Jim (Karla), and Bruce (Brenda); as well as 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Born in Swift Current, SK, she moved to Olds, AB in her early teens where she was a very active and popular addition to the community. She completed school, married, and had all her children in Olds. In 1972, the family moved to Lakeview Heights in West Kelowna, and she went on to become an integral part of the community there as well. She was a caring and compassionate person with a vibrant zest for life. During her retirement she was active within the Trinity Church community, and she volunteered for many years at Kelowna General Hospital (KGH).
Mom had a positive out look, was full of life, and took great happiness from her family. She will always be remembered for her friendship, her sense of humour, and especially in her later years, her strength and determination. Her passing leaves a void in our lives that time will not fill. She will be greatly missed and ever so lovingly remembered.
The family wishes to thank the staff of KGH, especially those working on 4E and the staff of the Hospice House in Kelowna.
