We Remember
LeClaire, Theresia (née Resch)
—
The family of Theresia LeClaire is saddened to share the news of her peaceful passing July 2, 2021, at Kelowna General Hospital, at the age of 84. Born in Vrbica, Yugoslavia on August 18, 1936, Theresia lived most of her life raising her family in Regina, Saskatchewan until she later moved to Kelowna, British Columbia to enjoy retirement.
Theresia was predeceased by her mother Terezija Lindmayer (née Felinger) and her father Adam Lindmayer; her sister Katie Adamek and brother Tony Resch; her daughter Hilda Johnston and sons Bob LeClaire and Richard LeClaire; as well as her grandson Dwayne Benkovic.
Theresia is survived by her greatest love, her best friend, and her husband of 63 years, Maurice LeClaire. She is also lovingly remembered by her daughters Maryann Benkovic, Florence (Bill) Spring, Maureen (Mike) Prystae; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Martin Adamek and many nieces and nephews.
Theresia had this beautiful grace about her, sharing her beautiful sense of humour with everyone around her. Her compassion was unlimited, touching the lives of many. Her family was the centre of her life. One of her greatest pleasures was bringing the family together through her many family gatherings. Maurice and Theresia shared many adventures travelling and always enjoyed their Sunday drives. She enjoyed bowling, ballroom dancing, and playing bingo with Maurice and friends. Theresia was blessed with a green thumb and was an avid gardener. She was also devoted and very active in her church, being a long-term member of the CWL, a sacristan reader and Eucharistic minister, and a member of the adoration chapel for many years.
Her Love, Laughter, and Generosity will be missed by all.

Dear Maurice and family. I am so sorry to hear of your darling Theresia’s passing. I know that you will all miss her so much. I will remember her with such fondness, especially the fact that we both loved and cherished the Lenten season. May your precious memories of her sustain you now, and comfort you in the future. May she rest in peace!
With much love, condolence and prayers. Doreen Marks
Maurice and family. We are so sorry for your loss. She was such a nice lady. Love Bob and Edit
My sincerest condolences to you Maurice, and the Le Claire family.
Dave and I were so proud to be friends of both Maurice and Theresia. We moved into Willow Terrace at the same time, and coming from Saskatchewan just made our connection even more special. We were Rider fans of course and also shared cottage life on Last Mountain Lake. We enjoyed watching movies together and on one occasion at the Theatre watched Tom Hanks in Captain Phillips . Maurice disappeared for a considerable time, we discovered he did not like the rough water scenes. Theresia laughed and graciously said ‘”that.s Maurice”‘ We spent coffee times at Tim Hortons Friday mornings with them and quite frankly we could not keep up with them. They were always on the go! Theresia loved her family, she shared many stories about raising her children and how much love our grandkids brought into our lives.
Theresia we know Heaven has a special place for you. Our deepest condolences to the families. We are sad that we are away and unable to give you a hug Maurice.
All our love Janet and Dave Biggin
Our sincerest condolences to you and your family on the passing of your mom, Florence. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.
