We Remember

LEES, John David
September 21, 1919 — October 26, 2013
John passed away peacefully after a short stay at the Kelowna General Hospital. Born in Kisbey, SK he spent most of his life in that prairie province, mainly in the Melfort, Nipawin area. In 1990 John and Mildred moved to Kelowna and fell in love with the city and their new home. Family, friends and the Lord were the cornerstone of his life – still leaving room for the Roughriders and the Maple Leafs. He was an avid curler well into his late 80’s.
He is survived by his son Wayne (Corrine) Lees, daughters Audrey Schuler of Saskatoon, Gwen (Gord) Franko of Kelowna, Gail (Ken) Schultz of Gibsons and his best friend Doris Rashke. John was predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Mildred. Also left to treasure his memory are 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. There will be no service at this time. A memorial service in Saskatchewan will be planned for next summer. For those wishing to send a condolence, photos or share memories, may do so by scrolling down this page to the area called “Share Your Condolences”.
Dearest Gwen and Family,
We have fond memories of John and will always cherish our time of knowing your father. We know he is where he always wanted to be and that is with our Lord.
