We Remember

LEO, Ida
—
Ida Leo passed away in Kelowna, BC on May 25, 2022. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Susan Magosci; granddaughter Jennifer Fowler (Michael Fowler); and great-grandchildren Jeremiah and Samantha Fowler. Ida was predeceased by her husband Joe (d. 2010); and her son Zoli Magosci (d. 2007).
Ida came to Canada during the Hungarian Revolution in 1956 with her then-husband, Oscar Magosci. They made a home in Toronto, ON, where she was heavily involved in the arts community, especially with the Canadian Opera Company. To say she loved opera would be an understatement. She worked for Toronto Dominion Bank for many years. She was a very stylish and glamorous lady. She loved all the pretty things she could look at and acquire. She supported local artists as much as she could and even became close friends with many of them. Ida lived in Toronto until 1989 when she moved with her husband Joe to Kelowna, BC. She was involved with the local Hungarian community in Kelowna.
She will be dearly missed.
