We Remember
LISTER, Ronald Bryan
July 25, 1950 — June 4, 2026
Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, on July 25, 1950, Ronald Bryan Lister passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, at the age of 75.
Ron was predeceased by his parents, Alice and Ralph Lister; and his first wife, Kathy Lister (d. 1979).
He is lovingly remembered by his children, Charles and Amanda; his brother, Gerry Lister; his many grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; his former wife Theresa McKay; and the many chosen family members and friends whose lives he touched through his kindness, generosity, and service.
Raised in Vancouver, Ron spent many summers attending Cadets in Vernon and later became part of the Vancouver C-Perce Armoury militia; both experiences helped shape his lifelong commitment to community and service. He married Kathy in 1974, and together they welcomed their son Charles in 1975. Following Kathy’s passing in 1979, Ron later married Theresa in 1984, and Ron gained a stepson, Josh. One year later, they welcomed their daughter Amanda in 1985. Ron and Theresa were married for 25 years.
In 1993, Ron and his family moved to 100 Mile House, where he discovered his true passion for serving others. A dedicated volunteer, Ron was instrumental in establishing the Canim Lake Fire Department from the ground up and proudly served with the volunteer fire department for many years. He was also an active member of the Lions Club and the Royal Canadian Legion, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed.
Ron was a volunteer at heart. Whether responding to emergencies, supporting community organizations, or simply helping a neighbour in need, he gave freely of his time and energy until he was no longer able. His legacy lives on in the countless people whose lives were made better because he cared.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ron’s memory may be made to the Forest Grove Royal Canadian Legion Branch 261. Please send donations to rcl261fg@gmail.com.
