We Remember

LOCKHART, Deborah Ann (nee Mack)

January 19, 1964 — July 6, 2020

Debra passed away on July 6, 2020, at the age of 56. She leaves behind her husband Robert Barry Lockhart; mother Judy Cook, sisters June Halliburton (Steve) and Karen Janzen (Ed); nieces Susan Levan and Donna McMartin; nephews John Halliburton, Kevin Halliburton and Jeff Janzen; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She was sadly predeceased by her daughter Christy Ann (d. 1982); son Jessy Robert (d. 1983); and brother Treves Wayne Mack (d. 2018).

Born January 19, 1964, in Calgary, Alberta to Wayne Donald Mack (d. 1993) and Judy Evelyn Cook, Debra loved the sun, walking on the beach, and travelling – especially road trips. She loved to drive, ride bikes, going for coffee, cooking and so much more. She loved life! And, what a great giggle she had, especially when watching a Melissa McCarthy Movie. Debra loved to travel! The destination was unimportant, it was the journey she loved.

On June 2, 1980, Debra met the love of her life, Robert Barry Lockhart, it was beyond love-at-first-sight, changing their worlds forever. They married October 13, 1982, in Toronto, ON and spent their honeymoon in Niagra Falls. In Rob’s heart, she was perfect in every way. Rob’s heart was broken in two on July 6 at 9:55 am when his “little Deb” passed away in his loving arms after 40 years of love. She is the girl he will always love. Debra will be missed every day by Rob and her entire family.

Deb was handed an illness that she never asked for, but she had will and determination and fought a courageous battle for the life she loved.

Deb was blessed to share her life with you. Thank you
for loving her so completely and unconditionally. Debbie always gave as much of herself as she could. She knew how to love us all.
I remember all the beautiful crazy road trips you guys took across the States to see as many drive- in movies as you could. Sometimes it was like I was right there with you’s as she shared the journey as it unravelled. It brought such an excitement and a smile to her.
Debbie had a long and hard battle but she was strong and courageous, a fighter. A true warrior. I have so much love and respect for her.
Thank you for taking care of her. You are strong and brave.
My heart is crushed and I will always miss my little pooky bear.

Condolences to Rob. Auntie Judy. June. Karen and families. Sending my sympathy and hugs. I have great memories of Deb and so enjoyed our annual trips to BC to visit as kids. Deb always struck me as confident, tranquil and beautiful. I do not have a single memory of her where she is not smiling or having a giggle. I’m certain she is already on a beach in heaven in cutoffs and a pair of sandals. A place where there is no illness. The world needs more beautiful souls like Deb.
