We Remember
LOVE, Leslie “Les” James
—
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Leslie James Love on June 14, 2021, at the age of 78. Les is now reunited with his beloved wife Wendy who he married 55 years ago and who he missed dearly since she predeceased him in 2017. Born and raised in Ontario, Les and Wendy moved to Lake Country in 1978 with children, Jeff and Jennifer.
Les was known for his independence, wit, and the twinkle in his blue eyes. Les had a passion for riding, both horses and motorcycles, on which an accident early in his life took his arm but not his cowboy spirit. Les was known as a man of few words, but also a talented whistler, yodeler, and auctioneer like his father. He loved his family, his wild cat Squeak, vintage cars, western novels, reminiscing with old Thistletown friends, and shooting the breeze over coffee and sweets.
He is missed by his children, granddaughter Darrah, siblings Cliff (Joan) Love and Jean Adamson, and many other family and friends.

Uncle Les, we always appreciated you and Wendy letting my young family come and stay with you in Winfield.
We never visited much after we got busy with our lives and covid did not help.
You will be missed.
Love, Stew, JoAnne, Melissa and Michael.
Keeping you close in my thoughts Jen. 🤗🤗
My parents owned the General Store and Post Office in Thistletown and Les, Clifford and Jean lived next door to us for many years from grade school. We were all very close friends and then as adults i became good friends again online through our Thistletown school group. He was very proud of his kids and loved his wife dearly. Les, you are at peace now and with your wonderful Wendy. RIP good friend. It was a pleasure knowing you for so long.
An old ‘Thistletowner’ checking in. Les, from when I was little on Elmhurst to your visits to us in Pasadena and reconnecting through our old school site you will be missed.. The Boyd Family…Bill, Judy and Pat.

Condolences to the family, life taken too soon. What is amazing is that this man has a same mischievous look on his face as when was a young boy, how unusual. RIP Lesley.
