We Remember
LOWE, Brian Charles
January 10, 1944 — October 9, 2022
Brian Charles Lowe passed away peacefully on October 9, 2022, at the age of 78. He was born in St. Albans, England, to Chas and Frances Lowe on January 10, 1944, and immigrated to Toronto, ON, Canada in March 1967. His wife, June, shared many common interests, such as being active in playing tennis against one another, and they loved to fish on the lakes north of Toronto; even ice fishing was on the agenda. Brian had an adventurous spirit and loved to plan weekend hikes along the Bruce Trail (with a well-timed roast in the oven upon return).
Brian moved to Calgary, AB to pursue job opportunities in 1980 and further moved to Vancouver, BC due to the recession. He continued to work as a Construction Estimator (and combined with his mathematical genius), he studied computer programming in order to design and develop computer estimates for his clients. He possessed a keen sense of humour, which was still evident throughout the
challenges faced with dementia.
Brian loved classical music and, much to the chagrin of those close to him, always enjoyed Tannhauser Ride of the Valkyries, which will be a final send off at his private service. His love for classical music had prompted him to build a Heathkit stereo system with enormous speakers (& sound) which are still in existence today. He enjoyed his retirement years in Kelowna, BC, living in his co-designed house. He continued his passion for tennis and played for a further 15 years.
Brian is survived by his wife, June, they were buddies for 55 years.
