We Remember
LYNCH, “Jackie” John
January 1, 1970 — January 1, 1970
Jackie Lynch passed away peacefully on April 7, 2020 in Kelowna, BC at the age of 88. Jackie is survived by his brothers Lloyd Lynch (Edmonton AB) and Albert Lynch (Halifax NS). Jackie was predeceased by brothers Charlie, Russell, Arnold, and Ross and sister Alma Hewlett. Jackie was born on August 24, 1931 in Stony Plain, AB to Cecil and Eva Lynch. He came to Kelowna, BC in 1966 to live with his sister Alma (Edwin) Hewlett and family. He enjoyed life on the apple orchard and was always anxious to help with chores, in any way that he could. Jackie will be remembered for the smile and handshake that he had for everyone he met. Jackie moved to Spring Valley Care Home in 2018 when Alma was no longer able to care for him. Jackie will be missed by his brothers, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held in Kelowna BC at a later date, when circumstances permit. If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Condolences”.
We knew Jackie when he first came to Kelowna. He was always part of Eddie and Alma’s family. Our condolences to the family.
Dear Albert and Lloyd: My deepest sympathies to you both. We are left with memories of better days and of youth. They die only with us. We first cousins are getting fewer. Barry
Barry, we are sorry to let you know that Lloyd Lynch has also passed away on April 20, 2020
Dear Roger and family. We wish to offer our condolences to you, in the loss of Jackie. He was a dear to all that knew him. He will be missed, but never forgotten. We know he is safe. His innocence and Love for God is a treasure.
Jackie was truly loved by all the Hewlett family. Great kindness and care was shown to him throughout the many years. Nice to think of his struggle in life ending peacefully, not long after he lost his dear sister. We have fond memories of Jackie in the East Kelowna orchard home and later in the care home as well. Special thoughts to you all these days.
Condolences Roger and Debbie. Sherrill McNary let me know today of Jackie’s passing. Knew him so well in my growing up years at Stony. They lived 1.5 miles from our farm and Cecil and Eva came to our house for mtg. So Lloyd passed away too. My my you have so much right now. So glad for your Mom’s kind heart in caring for Jackie so graciously. He loved what she loved.
Dear Jackie was such a treasure! Always had a happy smile and a warm handshake. He loved to sing the hymns with us when we would go to visit him with Phyllis. Alma was such a kind and loving sister. She couldn’t have cared more nor given him more of her love and the last bit of her energy. I am so thankful for his beautiful child like spirit and will miss him. Glad he’s gone on to his eternal rest 💞
Roger & Debbie
