We Remember
MacPHERSON, Joyce Gwendolyne
—
With fond memories and a deep love, we regret we have to say good by to Joyce MacPherson, who passed away on September 22, 2022. In the end, it was COPD and Covid-19 that took our marvellous and feisty Joyce.
Born in Moose Jaw, SK to the late Alfred & Gertrude Hawkins, Joyce moved around a lot and experienced life in many places. In 1954, Joyce married the love of her life, Willis MacPherson, and together they had a family of 5 children. The family moved to the Okanagan in 1975, and Joyce found her forever home. While many adventures may have taken her from the valley, it was here she would return to.
Joyce was a wonderful human being, full of love and care for others, and she stayed that way her entire life. As a member of the Westbank Senior Centre, she won Senior of the Year! And also in her later years, she gave her time volunteering at the Senior Centre.
Losing her is a profound loss, but she leaves a legacy of love through her children, Willis (Sandra), Gwen (Don), Larry (Melanie), Chris (Jim), and Jeff (Cindy); her 11 grandkids; and her 19 great-grandkids! She will also be missed by many extended family members and friends. Her spirit goes to join Willis’ as both of their remains will be laid to rest, together, here on earth. She was also predeceased by 5 siblings, and 1 nephew.
Memorial donations may be made to COPD Canada.
