We Remember
MACTAVISH, Hedy
—
On October 24, 2017, Hedy MacTavish of Kelowna passed away. She was predeceased by her siblings: Hattie, Harvey, Al and Lydia, as well as her husband of 62 years, Ken, in 2009. Hedy will be fondly remembered by her three sons: Ron (Bev), Dan (Mardie) and Duane (Lorraine). She also leaves behind, one sister, Hannah, four grandchildren: Kim, Jordan, Stephanie and Craig and five great grandchildren: Alyssa, Maddie, Caleb, Teagan and Xavier, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Born on a farm near Holden Alberta, Hedy, her parents and siblings moved to Osoyoos in the spring of 1943. She married RCAF veteran, Ken, in 1947 and they raised their children in Osoyoos until 1964. The family returned to Alberta where Ken and Hedy resided until their retirement and subsequent move to Kelowna in 1999. Hedy will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her strong Christian faith and her love of country music. A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, November 22nd at 1:00 p.m. at the Evangel Church, 3261 Gordon Drive, Kelowna, BC. The 5 Lundin siblings from Osoyoos remember the MacTavishs fondly.
I remember Mrs MacTavish, in church, somehow singing about the notes, which was so beautiful. As a child, I thought this was a normal thing, but never heard that again.
I also remember the boys( especially Ron) were the ones to beat in Sword Drill!
