We Remember

MAEERS, Robert Clyde

December 20, 1942 — June 9, 2014

Our loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather gone from this earth far too soon.  Bob will be greatly missed by his soul mate of 32 years, Jacqueline (Aubin) Maeers, his children Ron, Rick and Karen Maeers, Shirlee Ross and her loving partner Christopher Blake and Trevor and Kamila Ross.  His grandchildren Astrid, Piper and Scarlet will never forget their adventures with their Papa Bob. Born in Calgary, Alberta to John and Marion Maeers, Bob was a wonderful brother to his sisters Eva and Al Fry and Wendy and Gerry Scrivner, whom he loved unconditionally.  We will cherish the memory of his smile, his selfless support of his friends and family and his dedication to giving back to his community through countless volunteer efforts.  A man of unending talents, anyone who knew Bob would agree that he was someone to trust, to count on and to love.  Services will be held on Saturday, June 14th at 4:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association www.cmha.ca in his name are appreciated.  We will forever love you and keep your memories close to our hearts. Dear jackie and family
I have fond memories of my uncle Bob. He always had funny things to say. He used to make me laugh whenever I was around him. We have the funniest video of him showing his family house and pool, his Mother, You, and your dogs. He also played us the organ. He was just a crack up sometimes. I like to remember the good things. There were many!
    Love from Linda Wright

  • Kevin Fry says:

I remember as a young boy I would stay at Uncle Bob’s house to hang out with my cousins. I recall one day we were jumping big dirt piles and I was using Ricky’s bike. We were flying pretty high and eventually drew a small crowd from the neighborhood, to see when we would crash. Sure enough on one particular jump I flew high and landed hard and broke Ricky’s bike frame almost in two. I walked the bike back and when Uncle Bob saw the broken bike he didn’t get upset. He was always so good natured and fun to be around.
Uncle Bob was always teasing, and laughing and enjoying life. He was a good example of how to live life to it’s fullest. He will be missed, by many people and loved ones. Thanks for being there for me, and for being a great dad to your boys. Love and miss you Uncle Bob.

  • Kevin Fry says:

Uncle Bob was a good father to all of his children by the way, not to leave anyone out, I just spent most of my time with Rick and Ron when we were kids.

  • Terry & Barry Dickieson says:

We were saddened to hear of the passing of our cousin Bob. Although we weren’t fortunate enough to spend much time with him, we knew him to be a kind and caring person; as confirmed by the comments of others who knew him well. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

  • Victor Gorcak says:

    Goodbye Bob,
I always respected Bob, He was reliable, honest and a friend. Good men are hard to find. The Swimming pool Industry will miss this guy.
