MALLEK, Lance
—
Lance, 82, passed away on September 29, 2019. He is survived by his loving family, sisters Gloria (Dan) Fontaine and Lesia Leversage, numerous nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his mother Judith Simons and father Michael Maydanyk.
This unique, loving man was born in Winnipeg Manitoba on June 24, 1937 the eldest of 3 children. He grew up in Richmond BC, attending Richmond High and then went on to UBC. Early on, he worked in government positions and then went on to work as a mail carrier for many years in Richmond and then Kelowna. Lance had an adventurous spirit, he loved to travel, to sing and dance. He loved all sports, both watching and participating. Lance was acknowledged for his many years of volunteer work with seniors and was always ready to assist others in need. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family, going on adventures, playing cards and having fun. Lance was a loving, kind man who will be dearly missed.
A service to celebrate Lances life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 10:00 am at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.
