Patrick Paul Mangold, age 47, passed away in a tragic accident on August 24, 2013.
Predeceased by his mother Betty Coutts, his father David Mangold, step-mom Anita Mangold, and nephew Chandler Mangold. He is survived by his amazing, beautiful daughters Jennifer and Sydney Mangold and Jodi Mellott, friend and mother of his children, his brother Rick and his family (Gus, Sarah, Christopher, Maia), sister Christine and her family (JD, Amanda, Frank, Tracey, Phoenix, Rayne, Payton), sister Barbara and her family (Gary, Kerri, Gavin), brother Mark (Diana), brother Bryan (Ellen). Patrick had a love for life, family, friends, sports, water and animals, a smile that would light up any room and a hug that made your worries go away. His daughters Jennifer and Sydney were the love of his life and his proudest accomplishments. He was known for his great hockey skills; he played in the WHL and in Europe where he broke records for his skills. He was also an excellent fastball pitcher, playing in many leagues. Pat loved to teach and shared his skill with many. Jennifer and Sydney both became avid ball players. Patrick loved his work as a project manager and was proud of his many accomplishments. Some of his favourite things included being on the water, in the outdoors, his dog Shrek, Margaret Bay, and most of all being with his family and friends. Patrick was a good man who was loved deeply. We will miss you, our father, our brother, our friend. oh dear, what can a person say? I remember Patrick as a little boy with a cheeky face. He played outside all summer long on the lake on Pixton Road, in Okanagan Centre and he and my daughter Leanne were mischeivious together and had lots of fun. I used to worry about his welfare and that of his siblings, being beside the lake with no fear, while their mother was working and his young (older) sisters took care of him and their younger siblings. They were obviously survivors so this tragic accident is so sad. I would like to send his siblings and other family members my condolences and I hope they can look back on those happy memories when they were children and afterwards.
Pat will be missed. He was inspiration to my older boys watching him play hockey and wanting to be like him.He hada great outlook on life

Barb (and family) we were so sad to hear the news of your brother. He was a great man, and we know he will be missed, incredibly. Hang on to the great memories together. With Love and Prayers…Perry and Sandi
I was riding the transit bus and was reading the paper where I soon was in a state of shock. I first met Pat in Grade 4 at the 108 Elementary. I will always remember him as a good friend and a star athlete. We all admired his athletic ability and he was an inspiration to us all. I considered him to be a brother to me and I’m a better person to have known him. I was looking forward to seeing him at our 30 year high school reunion in 100 Mile House, BC.
We will all miss him.

My first memories of Pat was when I was 12/13 hanging at his dads cabin with his sister Barb and Kerri and his best friend Robbie enjoying the sun and water activities. Pat certainly enjoyed his family friends and having fun. Pat has always been a kind and fun loving guy. He will be missed deeply but will forever be in our hearts. I send much love and light to his family and hope that knowing how much Pat touched so many lives brings some comfort. May you RIP my friend xo
Pat and I met in high school, in grade 8. He always encouraged me, such a handsome boy with a twinkle in his eye, always helpful and full of energy, and charisma xoxo
We will be with you all in spirit today as you say goodbye to your Dad, Brother, Uncle, Nephew and Friend. Pat has left a legacy behind for all of us to remember. For those who knew him, we were truly blessed. His strength and determination were his key traits; along with his charisma, smile and humor! May your eternal life bring you peace, Pat…

Sending Love and Prayers during this difficult time…You are all in our thoughts!

I shall as tradition in my family raise a glass of scotch to a absent friends at every meal. Thank you patty you gave me gave something that is very dear my heart and that acceptance as a teammate.
