We Remember
MARCH, Jean Gwendolyn “Gwen”
December 31, 1931 — August 4, 2021
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gwen March at the age of 89 on August 4, 2021.
She is survived by her daughters Susan Bouvette and Julia Turnbull (Bruce); her brother Bob MacLaughlin and his wife Noreen, their children and grandchildren; and her cousin Pam McColgan. Gwen was predeceased by her loving husband John Douglas March (d. 2010).
Gwen and John married in Halifax, NS on April 18, 1952; shortly thereafter, they relocated to Kelowna, BC.
Gwen was a member of the Lively Art Singers. They recorded an album and travelled to perform at the Expo ’74 in Spokane, Washington. She met many great friends through the singing group.
Gwen had some wonderful neighbours over the years, especially Lina Scribner and Marie Ablett, she enjoyed spending time with them. Thank you to Tilman Nahm for always visiting when you were in town. She also made many good friends at the Okanagan Château.
We want to thank the Staff at the Okanagan Château for their kindness and compassion over the last eight years. Also, thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Kelowna General hospital.
We will all miss her sweetness and sense of humour.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Foundation.

My sincere condolences on the loss of your mom Gwen, my former neighbour on Tronson. I visited her a few times with Lina at the Chateau and remember fondly how mad she was when she broke her tooth on a McDonald’s french fry at Lina’s before she sold the house. She missed John terribly after he passed away but I know she is once again enjoying his company. I got to enjoy her antique wheelbarrow for many years after the house sale.
Miss you Sis, and I never told Mom or Dad about you letting the air out of Mr. Bremner’s tires that Halloween, wherever you are now, do try to behave .
