I was so sorry to read of Frieda’s passing. I have such fond memories of the hospitality of the Markgraf family, especially Frieda, when I first moved to Kelowna. Time and distance had separated us, but the memory of her kindness is still so real and current. My sincere condolences to Herb, Henry, and their families. May Grace and Peace be your portion
I knew Frieda as one of the pioneers of the Kelowna scene. She worked for my wife Julia in the Village Stitchery were life moved at a different pace than Kelowna today. She gave you the impression of a gentle and caring person who was exactly the person she was. My condolences to the Markgraf family.
I was saddened to read of Frieda”s passing. She was a delightful lady who, along with her family, made me feel so welcome when I first moved to Kelowna. Time and distance can reduce the opportunity for contact, but they cannot reduce the memories of warm friendship and hospitality
To Herb, Hank, and your families, I send my deepest condolences and prayers for Grace and peace.
Thank you Mrs. Markgraf for always being so kind and accidentally dropping Hank and I off early to our basketball game. We missed the bus and that resulted in one of the great adventures of my life. Condolences to Hank and the Markgraf family on your loss.
I will always remember her as a kindly soul. She was a very good friend of our family not only when she was our neighbor in Burnaby but also when she moved to Kelowna. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family
Dear Hank and Darcel,

Dear Hank and Darrel,
You have lost a beautiful part of your family. Mother looks like she was a very vibrant lady. She and your father must have made a great duo. It is very hard to lose a mother, even tho you may expect it. Know that I feel your loss and am very sorry for the empty spot she left…no one can replace.
Jesus loves her and loves you. Heaven is a place of “no more”…pain, tears or death. We all have a place there. Love, Marie
My sincere condolences to Herb, Hank and your families. I have warm memories of your mom dating back when I was your teacher and your mom was my “room mother.” I have always had a place in my heart for your mom’s warmth, caring and generosity. We shared many a good laugh over the years. Your mom was so proud of you two and shared her love with your families and so many other. Sorry I can’t be at her service as I’m undergoing surgery that day. I wish you peace as you grieve your loss. Sincerely, Paul Durose
