Gary Nicholas Marunchak left us too soon on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the age of 68 in Kelowna, BC. Gary was born in Kimberley, BC and was an elementary school teacher until his retirement. He is predeceased by his wife Eileen, father Victor, mother Louise, sister Diana, and brother James. He is survived by his sister Vicki, daughter Kori, sons Shane and Cori and 7 grandchildren.
His proudest accomplishment, aside from his children, was his recognition award from the Fox Family for his enduring work with the annual Terry Fox run.
Gary was a kind and generous man who was much loved by his family and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation in his honour. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 pm at Mickie’s Pub 2170 Harvey Ave, Kelowna, BC.

Gary was certainly taken too soon. I will remember many good times we had during our teaching careers. Special, for me, were those Seattle Bus Trips where ‘Chuk’ was always a ball of fire. Sympathies go to Chucky’s family. I know he will be greatly missed.
