We Remember

MATIJEW, Olga

A Memorial Service will be held for Olga on SUNDAY, MAY 1, 2022, AT 1:00 PM, at SPRINGFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.

Olga passed away peacefully on January 10, 2022, at the age of 100.  She is survived by her daughter Christine Matijew (Roland Houle), numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.  Olga was sadly predeceased by her husband, John, in 1999, and her three sisters Adina Weidner, Maria Quiring, and Lydia Dost.

Olga and John moved to Kelowna, BC from Ontario to retire and be close to family in 1989.  They enjoyed traveling to Europe and visits to family and friends.  Gardening brought Olga many hours of enjoyment until she reached the age of 98. She was very active in her church, and community service played a vital role in her life.  She leaves a legacy of kindness and generosity.  She was always willing to help wherever she could.

A huge thank-you to the staff at the Village of Smith Creek and Dr. Michael Bobyn for the wonderful care they gave.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency).

Olga has been laid to rest with her husband John.
