We Remember
MATNER, Edwin
—
Went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the age of 81. He is survived by his loving wife Rhoda of 45 years; three daughters: Elaine Sol (Howard) of Likely, BC, Sheila Matner (Ken) and Maureen McClelland (Mel) all of Kelowna; five grandchildren: Samantha, Kelsey, Kyle, Joanna and Brandon; two great granddaughters: Allison and Brielle; one sister Joyce Worley (Albert) of Vernon; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by his parents and sister Evelyn. Ed was a heavy duty mechanic and steam engineer who loved camping and fishing and could fix anything. In the last five years, Ed suffered from dementia, but in all that he had been through he remained thankful with a kind and gentle nature. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at the Village at Smith Creek for their loving care. Ed loved his family and they deeply loved him in return – he will be dearly missed! A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.
