We Remember

MCEWEN, Morley Gordon

November 9, 1949 — March 1, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Morley Gordon McEwen, who left us on March 1, 2025, in Kelowna, BC, surrounded by his loving family. He was 75 years old.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty; children Monty (Lesley), Angela (Daryle), and Jeffrey (Hyesung); grandchildren Jared Paull (Rachel), Curtis Paull, Rayelle Paull, Austin McEwen, and Blake McEwen; sister Marlene; brother-in-law Jim; sister-in-law Mildred (Gabriel); and many nieces and nephews.

Morley was a man of many talents and an unwavering spirit. He found joy in the simplest things, including his passion for crunching numbers, a hobby that reflected his analytical mind. A successful entrepreneur, Morley embraced a variety of careers throughout his life. From mining, heavy truck operation, and mechanics, to carpentry and business ownership, Morley was never one to shy away from hard work and adventure.

Known for his infectious humor and love of pranks, Morley’s quick wit and playful nature will be missed by all who knew him. His family was always his top priority, and he took immense pride in supporting his children and grandchildren, sharing his skills and knowledge to help them grow and thrive.

Family gatherings were a highlight, with Morley often the mastermind behind inventive games that brought joy and laughter to everyone. His love for the outdoors, once demonstrated through hunting, fishing, and camping, later transformed into years of cherished RV life with his beloved wife, Betty.

Morley’s passion extended to gardening, where he became an expert landscaper, always working with a dedication to beauty and detail that mirrored his approach to life.
