We Remember
McKENZIE, Connie
January 21, 1920 — October 7, 2016
Passed away at 96 years of age in Kelowna. Predeceased by the love of her life Dawson in 2007 after 64 years of happy marriage, and by her 7 siblings.
Raised in Vancouver, Connie was a war bride who worked for the American Can Company before raising a family. She is survived by 3 children; Jill (Gerry), Eleanore (Kevin) and Paul (Susan) and by 7 grandchildren; Scott, Julie, Jaynee, Shanelle, Katie, Rory and Elspeth and 5 great-grandchildren.
A homemaker, Connie enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing for her family. Connie and Dawson retired to the Shuswap where they built their own home on the lake enjoying many happy years together gardening, dancing, and wintering in Mesa with their friends.
Connie enjoyed a very healthy active lifestyle with daily long walks and proper nutrition long before it became fashionable to do so. She was a true cat lover, a trait shared by her children and grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the very caring and professional staff at The Cottonwoods Care Centre for her care over the past two months.
A Private Family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
