We Remember
MCMANUS, Megan Doris (nee Perkins)
—
Died in Kelowna, BC on April 4, 2016 at the age of 80. She was predeceased by her loving husband, John William McManus, and is survived by her step-daughters, Clare McManus (Michael Griffin) of Kelowna, BC and Ellen Redelfs of St. Louis, Missouri, her grandson Jean-Paul Griffin of Barrie, ON, her sister Winnifred Lefebvre of Montreal, her nephews James Lefebvre of Montreal, Steve Lefebvre of Montreal, Alan Lefebvre of Brantford, ON and her niece Eileen Lefebvre of Montreal.
Megan was born in Blackwood, South Wales in 1935 and emigrated as a very young woman to North America. Montreal, Quebec became her home of many years. Megan loved music, dance, literature, and travel. She and her husband John McManus travelled widely and especially enjoyed exotic locations. India was a favorite of hers: its culture, its colors, its food, and its elephants. I am thankful to Kelowna General Hospital staff, and very much appreciate the caring and gentle staff of 4East. Amanda was a wonderful support. There is no service, by request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society. For those wishing to send a condolence, photos or share memories, may do so by scrolling down this page to the area called “Share Your Condolences.”
Hi Claire,

Joyce and Dennis
Many condolences to you all. You have all my support.
My memories of Doris are those of a fun and cheerful person . As a young and mischievous kid , it was always play time with her . Even as an adult , time spent with her was always rewarding . She was bright and well aware of places and events . A wonderful person . I am saddened to learn of her death . My condolences to those who were close to her and took care of her .
So sorry for your loss, Clare and Michael. We will be in touch soon.
