We Remember
MCQUEEN, Ermon William
September 3, 1958 — August 2, 2016
It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ermon at the age of 57. He is survived by his wife Jacquie of Kelowna, sons: Matthew (Sandra) of Calgary, Christopher (Angela) of Calgary; grandchildren: Alyssa, Brady; his mother Sarah Elizabeth of Calgary; sisters Ann (Don) of Kelowna, Laura (Gary) of Calgary, Lorraine of Calgary, Dee (Klaus) of Calgary, Sandra (Duane) of Lethbridge, Lilly (Dennis) of Kelowna; brothers: Gord (Carol) of Calgary, Jim of Calgary, Brian (Shelley) of Lethbridge and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Patricia McQueen, his first wife Carol McQueen and father Allistair McQueen.
Ermon was a devoted husband and a loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother and son. Ermon loved to spend time with family, play golf, create beautiful, handcrafted wood work, and cheer on his beloved Calgary Flames, but nothing brought him more happiness then spending time with his grandbabies. He will be deeply missed by his entire family and the many friends he made during his lifetime. No service by request. Should family and friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Share Your Condolences.”
We are very sad to hear the passing of a great man. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time.
My deepest heartfelt condolences to the McQueen family. I had the honor of meeting Ermon and becoming friends many years ago during our employment at Cash Casino in Calgary. Ermon was a very caring and gentle soul, he was like a father to me. I remember one night after work, I went to grab some coffee for them and on my way back, one of my tires bursted. In the middle of winter at -20 degrees, he came and helped me change my tire. He was the type who would give you the shirt off his back, was a great man, I will never forget you and the imprint you have had on my life! Thank you Ermon, I wish I could meet you for coffee one last time. May your sweet, gentle and caring soul rest in peace til we meet again.
Thank you for sharing. It’s good to hear that others have experienced the same from knowing Ermon. He will be missed every single day.
Although Ermon was a new member of our family he really found a place in our hearts. We are deeply saddened by the loss. He fought hard and his efforts and kindness never went unnoticed. He really made me feel like part of his family just as he really felt like part of ours.
