We Remember
McRAE, James “Jim”
—
Jim passed away on July 14, 2020, at the age of 86. He is survived by Elsie, his loving wife of 64 years; children Wayne (Cindy,) Brenda, Heather Hewitt (Robert), Marilyn Heichert (Brian), and Glenn, Brian; grandchildren: Curtis, Sheldon, Tiffany, Ashley, Robert, Jennifer, Kristyn, Kelsey, Carter, Penny, and Donald; and 10 great-grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn brothers Gordon and Frank, and sister Lorraine. He was sadly predeceased by his grandson Steven and brother Lyall.
Son of Duncan & Doris McRae, Jim grew up in Clearwater, MB. In his younger years, he was an avid sportsman in baseball, hockey, curling and golf. He had a quick wit and a great sense of humor, was a hard worker and an excellent handyman, and Jim loved to garden and spend time with his family. He enjoyed wintering with his snowbird friends and then joined the Kelowna senior centre to play bridge. Bright memories of Jim will remain in our hearts forever.
Due to the current public health crisis, a private gathering will be held. If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory please scroll down the page to the area called “Condolences”.

Dear Elsie, My deepest sympathy in the passing of your dear Jim.
Hello Elsie, I just want to express my condolences to you and your family. I only knew Jim from playing bridge. It was always fun playing with him because he was always cheerful, even when he was suffering, and his sense of humour was infectious. He helped make everyone enjoy the many afternoons at both Sarsons and “Club 17”. All the best and I hope to see you at the bridge table once “normal” returns.
Dear Elsie and family, I was so sorry to read of Jim’s passing in the newspaper. He will certainly be missed and i will always remember the twinkle in his eye and his great sense of humour. He will be greatly missed at Bridge. “”.God gave us memory that we might have roses in December.”

Elsie my condolences to you and your family. Jim was kind, gentle and always had a smile and a twinkle in his eye. He will be missed..
Dear Elsie and family….I am so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing…his humour, laughter and good willingness to help out will always be in my heart! He was a great tease and always made me feel special…you and him were the only ones who stayed to help at the Christmas party at Sarson’s back about 5 years ago….Jim was always ready to help set up and take down for bridge and even though he was in pain and had difficulties walking, he could always come back with some quirky quip to put a smile on my face. I know this is a challenging time for you, and I want you to know you are in my mind, heart and soul….sending you all much love and peace, I have many precious memories…thank you both, for enriching my life….Godspeed Jim….you will be missed!
