Passed away peacefully at KGH on January 28, 2017 at the age of 96. He is survived by his loving family: 2 daughters, Joanne Bierman of West Kelowna and Jean (Russ) Hughes of Edmonton; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and sister Jean Frith of Vancouver.  Robert is predeceased by his wife Rose in 2007, and his grandson Dean.  A private family service will take place in Edmonton.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation, #4 – 1551 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC V1Y 9M9 (www.heartandstroke.ca).

    Dear Joan and Jean, I am so sorry to learn of uncle Bob’s passing. Please accept my deepest condolences. The last time I saw him was such a wonderful visit – I had gone to Edmonton with my youngest child, and he and aunt Rose were such wonderful hosts. I really enjoyed getting to know them both better, and to share our memories of past experiences when we visited Edmonton when I was a child and young adult.
