We Remember
MIKOLIUNAS, Diane (née Pressacco)
April 16, 1931 — January 23, 2022
At the age of 90, Diane Mikoliunas passed away on January 23, 2022.
Diana was raised in Timmins, Ontario where she attended secretarial school, worked, married, and raised her two young children. When the Hollinger mine closed in 1968, the family moved to Kitchener, ON where she worked as an Executive Secretary at Clarkson Gordon Accountants. Upon the death of her husband, Vytas Mikoliunas, she moved to Kelowna BC to be an active grandmother to her only grandchild, Cara.
Diana was a kind, supportive, fun-loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who loved being part of any party or activity throughout the years. She was an avid gardener and provided her neighbours and family with fruits and vegetables from her well-tended gardens and loved flowers.
Once widowed, she enjoyed trips to Italy to reconnect with her Italian relatives as well as trips with family to California, Las Vegas, Mexico and Big White. She was always generous, giving, lively and good-natured throughout her life until Alzheimer’s took its toll these last 7 years.
Diana is survived by her children, Ann (Michael) Gates and John (Carla Norheim), and her granddaughter Cara Mikoliunas.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Brandt Creek Mews, her wonderful PSW Heather Swallow, and all of the good friends that have been so supportive over the last few years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
