Passed away after a valiant battle with cancer on Friday, August 23, 2013 at the age of 64. Elsie is survived by her loving husband, Gordon; 2 daughters, Audrey (Ryan) Williams and Darlene Miller (Alan Hjelt) of Kelowna; 3 grandchildren, Montana, Dylan and Carson; brother Len (Gayle) Hiebert; sisters Marieanne (Dan) Dyer and Betty (Ed) Hill; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, a large extended family and wonderful friends. She was sadly predeceased by her brother Al Hiebert. Elsie’s love of friends and family will be in our hearts forever. A Celebration of Elsie’s Life will be held on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 3:00 pm at the Lakeview Heights Community Hall, 860 Anders Road, West Kelowna. In lieu of flowers, should family and friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation,

We are so blessed to have had Elsie in our lives and we will miss her immensely. We can only aspire to live as courageously as she did.
I am so sorry to hear this news. I always remember Elsie being especially kind to Clarence, and passing around a bag for scraps of meat for him at one of the dinners at “the pink house”. She was a lovely spirit, and the world is one short now of such a caring person.

gord,audrey and darlene – was surprised and saddened to hear of elsie’s passing. all the good ones go too early. i will miss her dearly as i have since they moved. i loved when her and gord came through my checkout. she was easy to talk to and she had great humorous facial expressions. she always made my workday more pleasant – what a lady!! she will be sorely missed. so sorry for you all to have to go through this, she was too young. love to your families from rosanne ryder
