We Remember
MILLER, Evangeline (nee Dale)
July 5, 1921 — June 9, 2017
With sadness in our hearts we say good-bye to a remarkable wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Van passed away peacefully on Friday June 9, 2017 in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Bill Miller, much loved mother of Dale Miller and Lynne Cousins, adored mother-in-law of Lara Tiedens, Carol Porter and David Cousins, treasured grandmother of Scott (Trish), Nathan (Megan), Ashley (Kemil), Josh (Alyssa), William and Elena, special great-grandmother of Aiden and Addison Cousins and Samuel and Paige Miller, also dear cousin of Kay Reston and sister-in-law of Francis Dale. Van was predeceased by her parents, William and Amanda Dale, brothers, Ed, Bill and Vic Dale, sisters, Mary Gentlemen and Laura Rosenburg and cousin Eleanor Wells. A beautiful person inside and out, Van inspired us throughout her long life with her warmth, kindness and generosity, her joyful sense of humour and the endless love and caring she extended to her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Special thanks to Elaine Kennedy for the care and devotion shown to Mom over the past several years, Dr. M. Bobyn and to the staff at Glenmore Lodge (Magpie Unit) for their amazing care and support, especially through Mom’s final days. Donations may by made in Van’s memory to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation (www.kghfoundation.com). A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 14th at the Kelowna Golf and Country Club at 2:00 pm.
