We Remember
MILLIGAN, Glen Murray
June 29, 1940 — November 24, 2014
Glen Milligan passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014 with his family by his side after a short struggle with cancer. Glen was born on June 29, 1940 in Carrot River, Saskatchewan. Glen was the 5th eldest of 16 children born to his parents, Ray and Violet Milligan. Glen left the farm in his mid-teens and headed for the prosperity of the resource rich Province of British Columbia. It was in the Caribou where he met the love of his life, Carol Dunlop. They married in 1960 and while having a family of their own, they lived in many different places over the first 20 years, including Vancouver to Lytton then Port Hardy and back to Lytton. In 1974 they decided to make Kelowna their home. Glen had a productive work life and enjoyed being outside as part of the forest industry. He was very well liked and respected by all who knew him. He enjoyed playing pool, horseshoes and a good game of Kaiser and Crib. One of the things he taught his children at an early age was to always help anyone who may be in need of a hand. His greatest joy was his children and wanting to know what all his grandkids were up to. He will be deeply missed. Sadly predeceased by his mom and dad, Ray and Violet Milligan, brother David Milligan and sister Marg Anderson. He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Carol, son Blake Milligan (Char), Daughters Wendy Kennedy (Kerry) and Kari Forbes (Darren). Grandchildren, Joel, Randi and McCall Milligan, Zak and Branden Kennedy and Parker and Maggie Forbes. Also 7 brothers and 6 sisters and numerous family and friends. A special thanks to all who assisted in the past 5 weeks, especially Glen’s brother Merle and his wife, Rosemary. A celebration of Glen’s life will be held at a later date.
