I was saddened to hear of Betty’s recent passing. Betty and Stan were good friends and neighbours of my parents, Eric and Hilda for many years on Jones Road. As a family, we shared many stories And laughs “over the fence”. Our condolences to Stan,Karel, Donna And their families during this sad time.
Dear Stan,
Don’t know if you remember me, but I want to extend my condolences with the passing of your dear wife.
Many years ago (about 56 yrs) I helped my Dad (RR’s) in Richmond P.O. and at that time you advised me
to apply for a job at the PO and also to Canada Customs. I did exactly that. After 7 yrs at Customs, I started working for a Customs Broker until I retired 12 yrs ago. My parents lived in Kelowna for about 4 yrs where Dad died (1974). Mom moved to Abbotsford (where we live) until she died in 2001, aged a month short of 95 yrs.
In a weeks time, we will be celebrating (the Lord willing) our 50th anniversary.
I always remember your kindness and advice about work as at the time I graduated from H.S. I didn’t have an idea what I wanted to do.
Thanks for that, and we wish you the best as you move ahead in life.
Sincerely,
Matt Kwantes
