We Remember

MITCHELL, Margaret (née Poulsen)

December 16, 1946 — December 4, 2020

Marge Mitchell passed away the evening of December 4, 2020 after a valiant battle with cancer.  Marge, the daughter of Alex and Agnes Poulsen, was born and raised in Victoria, BC and graduated from Claremont High School.  She was an amazing wife, mom, grandmother, aunt, and sister.

Family and friends knew Marge as the dearest, kindest, most generous soul. Her love for family was evident in everything she did.  An amazing cook, she spent many happy occasions cooking for her friends and family.  She and her husband Bob enjoyed RV’ing with their friends in the Good Sam’s Club. Her laughter and love will be cherished forever.

Marge is survived by her loving husband Bob; her 2 daughters Brenda Kieffer-Ross (Eric) and Sheila Donaldson (Dan Bernheisel); her grandchildren Joshua, Courtney, Samantha, Emily, and Kyle; sister Anita King; brother John Poulsen (Rose Nolan); sister-in-law Yolanda Reyes; nieces Katrina Driese and Nicole Poulsen; nephew Shane King (Carolyn); great nieces Melissa and Emma; great nephews Derek and Fraser.  Marge was predeceased by her brother, Wayne Poulsen.

Marge’s life will be honoured and celebrated at a later time due to current COVID-19 regulations. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please donate to the Canadian Cancer Society, in Marge’s memory.

The family would like to thank Dr Jason Cassidy and all the workers at Kelowna General Hospital cancer unit; Thank you for being caring and compassionate during her final days.

“We’ll miss you forever; we will love you longer.”

Marge did love to talk, and I’ll always remember LONG phone conversations, reminiscing about the past. She’d tell me that growing up, she was the defiant one, and Anita was “Goody Two Shoes”. Some of her stories were sad too, but she’d just laugh them off. She was always positive, good natured, and happy. She will be missed so much, but will remain in our hearts and memories. My sincere condolences to all of the Family.

Sending my sincere condolences to your family. I have so many childhood memories of Marge. She was always so much fun to be around. I remember her marathon scrabble games with my mom, singing along with us kids in the station wagon while taking us on an adventure somewhere, our times at the beach but I remember her laughter most of all.
