We Remember

MONTGOMERY, Robert Henry

January 25, 1948 — August 11, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Henry Montgomery announces his peaceful passing on August 11, 2026, at the age of 78, surrounded by those he loved.

Robert grew up in Toronto, where he shared an especially close bond with his mother, Sybil. Throughout his life, family remained important to him, and those who knew him will remember his quick wit, unmistakable sense of humour, and the personality that made him uniquely Robert — or “Bob,” as he was affectionately known by a few special people.

Robert had a lifelong love of Corvettes and especially enjoyed the thrill of racing them. He was also an avid fan of football and hockey and could often be found enjoying the game with a cold beer in hand — something he was rarely known to turn down.

Robert will be lovingly remembered by his children, Lindsay (Brian), Keith, and Kristie (Joey), and his grandchildren, Max, Chloë, and Hunter. He also leaves behind his dear friend and “brother,” Jim, and Jim’s wife, Bev, whose friendship held a special place in his life.

Robert was predeceased by his beloved mother, Sybil; his father, Malcolm; and his favourite dogs, Sunray and Prince, who brought him much companionship and happiness over the years.

Those who knew Robert will remember the laughter he brought into their lives, his love of fast cars and sports, and the many moments shared over a cold beer. His wit, stories, and one-of-a-kind character will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

In keeping with Robert’s wishes, there will be no service.
