We Remember
MONTGOMERY, Stanley Arthur
—
On May 29, 2021, Stanley Montgomery passed away at his home in Kelowna, BC at the age of 82. Born in Minnedosa, Manitoba, Stan had three brothers, Bob, Reg, and Bruce, and three sisters, Margaret, Debbie, and Sandra.
In his early years, Stan and his wife, Donna, purchased their first business, an A&W restaurant, and eventually they went into the hotel business. Stan was passionate about boxing and was a light-weight boxer. He had a sharp and witty sense of humour that we all appreciated and was passed on to his children. Thirty-five years ago, Stan moved to the Okanagan to retire.
Stan is survived by his daughters Colleen (Richard), Christine (Paolo); son Ross (Shelley); grandchildren; great–grandchildren; and great-great–granddaughter. Sadly, Stan was predeceased by his daughter Kathleen.
In accordance with Stan’s wishes and Covid-19 restrictions, a private family gathering will take place later this month.

Deepest condolences to the family of Stan Montgomery from Edith Grube and Lise Lacroix. Stan was a good friend of ours and we spent many hours enjoying a dinner at a restaurant or a Christmas dinner at my home. He will be missed.
Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields hi all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between His shoulders. Deuteronomy 33:12
I am very sorry for your loss and wish your family strength during this difficult time.

I have known Stan for about 20years, I met him through a good friend. I’m from Manitoba too, so we Exchanged stories, I use to see him at the dances. He was a very friendly man. I lived in Kelowna for a while, then moved to Edmonton, every time I visited my relatives, I always called him and we would meet for coffee. That was 3 years ago. I tried to call him on his birthday July 23, was wondering why the phone was always busy or out of service. So I decided to check the obituary just now and there I find his picture and Obituary. I’m shocked. Sorry the condolence is late. So sorry of your loss.
He talked about his family a lot, I didn’t meet any of you ,but he spoke very highly of his family.
Rest In Peace Stan, I miss you.
