I am so sorry and shocked of the passing of Mary Jane. I worked with her and just recently we reconnected. I seen and talked to her on May 26. I will not be able to attend the service as I will be out of town. My deepest condolences to the family.
I am deeply saddened to hear of Mary’s death. I worked for a number of years at Barkerville with Mary, where she worked as the Post Master, on Barkerville’s Security staff & as the adult supervisor of the “Barkerville Kids” program.
I was guest in her home in Wells on numerous occassions, enjoying her hospitality, great cooking & humerous story’s of her experiences living in Vancouver & elsewhwere.
Mary also worked with the BC Ambulance Service in Wells & was always willing to extend a helping hand to others. This was very evident when Mary took post-secondary training & became employed in the Social Services sector.
My condolences to Josh & the rest of Mary’s family.
Sincerely,
Jody Hunter.
So sad, I also knew Mary in Wells in the 70’s and 80’s. Kindhearted and caring. Community minded and fun loving. Way too young… my sincerest condolences to all her extended family and multitude of friends.
Warmly, Tom Adair, New Westminster

Josh: you know my sentiments with regard to the passing of your mother and my step-mother. But I just wanted to reiterate that Mary was a shining light in this world: always seeking truth and joy. Mary has taken a part of us on her journey and we shall not forget her.
I knew Mary in the early 70’s while living in Vancouver. The last I heard she had married and had a son named Josh. Then we lost touch since we both moved and married and changed last names. Mary was an incredibly wonderful person back then and Im sure she blessed many people’s lives after that too. I wish so much I could have remembered her married name and had found her before her passing away. Condolences to the family.
