We Remember

MORIN, Barbara Kaye

February 14, 1965 — June 29, 2026

It is with immense sadness and everlasting love that we announce the loss of Barbara Kaye Morin, who passed away peacefully, while surrounded by family on June 29, 2026, after a short battle with cancer, at the age of 61.

Left to hold her dear to their hearts are those she loved most, including her husband of 35 years, Donald “Don”; children Breanna (Damon), Scott, and her cat, Big Sal; granddog Bundy and grandcat Seve; sisters Janine “Jan” (Norm) and brother Andrew “Andy” (Renee); and many nieces and nephews and extended family members who will all miss her dearly. She now goes to join those who passed before her: parents Anna and Eric; brothers Glen and Derek “Rick”; and sisters Terilyn “Terry” and Bonita “Bonnie”.

Barb will be remembered for her goofy, fun-loving sense of humour and bringing laughter and lightness to those around her. She adored her family and found great joy in the company of animals, especially her beloved cats. Barb also had a passion for golfing, cheering on the Edmonton Oilers, listening to live music, and travelling, embracing every opportunity to explore new places and try new foods.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 3:00 pm (PDT), located at the Okanagan Golf Club – The Bear & The Quail, 3200 Via Centrale, Kelowna, BC, with Kim Bergstrom officiating. We are shocked and saddened to hear of Barb’s passing. For our family, Barb was someone I hung around with playing tennis as a kid and then reconnected through our kids. She could light a room up and was so proud of her family. We’ll miss you Barb. Don, Scotty, and Bre – we are thinking of you in this tough time

    Don and family,
We were just stunned to learn of Barb’s passing. She was always such a special person to me.
I first met her when she was about 10 yrs. old and just learning to play tennis. A gifted athlete, she was soon excelling at the game. When she and Jeff began competing at a provincial level, I became the “tennis mom” – ferrying them to games and tournaments. Barb was just part of the family – happy, giggly and absolutely charming. We all adored her.
I am so glad I was lucky enough to reconnect with her some years later and saw a happy young woman with a husband she adored and two children that were her pride and joy.
Please know we are thinking of all of you at this very difficult time.

  • Valerie Melanson says:

It was easy to see her love for her family and I’ll always admire the mom she was to Bre and Scott. We will deeply miss her, her sense of humour, and her warmth. Sending all our love to you, Don and Scott, and of course Bre and Damon.

    Don, Breanna, Scott and family:
I was shocked to hear of Barb’s passing and am still trying to process it. I will always fondly remember Barb and you all as our wonderful neighbours when we first moved to Spruce Grove. Our kids very young but man we did have fun! Barb was always the life of everything. I can still hear her amazing laugh! Her love of golf and the Oilers was a real thing. I was very lucky to have called her my friend. There is doubt she will be missed beyond words but I hope all the wonderful memories you have will eventually bring you all comfort. My heartfelt condolences and sympathies, Look after each other as that is what Barb want.

  • James Palmer says:

Me and Amy were so lucky to get to know Barb whilst working at the golf club. She never failed to put a smile on our face and brightened up every room she would walk into. A shining personality doesn’t even cut it, she was more than that, a genuine pleasure to be around and just a great human. She will be missed so dearly. We will be tuning into the livestream from across the pond to pay our respects. Sending love and condolences to the whole family x
