We Remember
MURATA, Terumi Anne (nee Itani)
March 23, 1951 — August 20, 2018
Terumi Anne Murata passed away on August 20, 2018 at the age of 67 after a brief illness. Terri is survived by her loving family: sons Warren, Jason, Scott, Brian and their father Kazuya; sister Nancy (Dick) Minato; brothers Ted (Frances) Itani, Bing (Carol) Itani; and many special nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Takeo and Sumako Itani; brother Tom (Beryl) Itani; sister Linda (Isao) Terai.
Terri was born in Kelowna on March 23, 1951 and was raised and attended school in Westbank. After graduation, she went to Japan in 1969 to study Japanese where she met and married her husband in 1973. They returned to Kelowna shortly after where they raised their four boys who are by far her greatest accomplishments. She supported her boys by volunteering in the school system from kindergarten to graduation. She loved her dancing nights at the Blue Gator. She was surrounded by a multitude of loving and supportive friends, who we ask to go out and do a random act of kindness in her name.
In lieu of flowers or Koden, donations may be made to the Kelowna Food Bank www.cofoodbank.com .
A Celebration of Terri’s Life will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Kelowna Buddhist Temple, 1089 Borden Avenue, Kelowna, BC.
