We Remember
MURPHY, Simon Fraser
July 4, 1976 — April 21, 2024
After a courageous battle with AL Amyloidosis (Cancer), Simon passed at the age of 47 surrounded by family and loved ones. His memory lives on in the hearts of his beloved wife Nancy; his children Katie, Ali, and Jasper; his parents Mike and Anne; his sister Emma and brother-in-law Ian; his in-laws Grant and Andrea Spitz. He was pre-deceased by his brother-in-law Tony. He also lives in the hearts of the entire Innovative Aerospace Services family, as well as extended family members and friends worldwide.
Simon was a devoted husband and father, a loving son, and brother, and a dear loyal boss and a friend to all he knew. Simon was an avid athlete which included his love for skiing, hockey, biking, motorbikes, jeeping, boating, car racing and most importantly spending time with his family. His passion, knowledge, and devotion to the aviation industry were unsurpassed. He will be greatly missed by the entire aviation community. He had a heart of gold and was well respected by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Gone But Not Forgotten.
Nancy and the family wish to thank everyone for their love and support at this sad and difficult time.
Memorial donations may be sent to the BC Cancer Foundation.

Very sorry to hear. Our condolence to Nancy and family.
It’s a strange feeling working through the sadness with the loss of someone special, as Simon truly was, and feeling a smile when you remember being around him. Simon was so in demand and yet he would always say yes when you asked for his help, and he’d appear with a smile and a warm greeting. Our hearts are with Nancy, Katie, Ali, and Jasper and the brilliant team at Innovative.
Our deepest condolences for the loss of such a beautiful life
Our deepest condolences to Nancy and family and indeed everyone who loved Si. He had connected with everyone here at Wisk Air in a very personal way.
He was such a generous person, easy to like, filled with respect for all. Very aware and careful with others in all situations.
When Simon rewired our first 412 at Transwest he was excited and fearless and did such an amazing job that that aircrafts’ Avionics remains in awesome condition today, some 9 years later, thanks to Simon’s’ skills and efforts.
It was always apparent that Si always took time to think of how to make sure his efforts benefited other’s !
Many folks here have expressed to me that each of them will miss him personally and equally his leadership within the Helicopter Industry.
He had made such a difference to us all on many levels.
Love and Sympathy to you Nancy and your family.
Our deepest condolences to Nancy, the family and the IAS family. We were very saddened to hear this news. Si was a great guy, and a wealth of knowledge. He will be missed by all.
Sincerest condolences to Nancy and to all of Simon’s family, including the Innovative Aerospace family, from those of us at EDMO who knew and corresponded with Simon. He was a consummate professional and a joy to work with. He will be dearly missed.

Nancy and family, I just found out today about Simon’s passing. I’m so sorry for your loss and can’t imagine how it must be for each of you. I send you my thoughts and hopes for you to be at peace within yourselves as you adapt to what has happened. I will remember his kind, witty self and his willingness to treat me as a long lost friend even if I hadn’t seen him for several years. He’ll be a person I’ll miss in my life.
