We Remember
MUSTONEN, Lance
—
1948 – 2022
After a long fight, our warrior’s battle for health came to an end on January 16, 2022. Lance Mustonen passed away peacefully, with family by his side, at the age of 73.
Born and raised in Toronto, ON, Lance moved out west in his 20s. He met Karen, they fell in love, and were married in 1980. He worked construction in Kelowna, BC, and then they moved to Castlegar, BC where Lance worked at Tech Cominco over 30 years. Lance was good with his hands and loved building all sorts of things. He used his skills to build his family a home, a place to raise their children. He was a loving husband and a wonderful father.
Lance had a unique sense of humour, a love of music, and loved country living! He gave back to his community by being a voluntary firefighter for 20 years. He was an audiophile and loved all things music. Watching tennis and golf gave him many hours of enjoyment. Earlier in his retirement, he was an avid golfer.
Lance’s spirit is carried on by his family: his wife, Karen; children Jasmin, Davin, and Megan; sister Cheryl; mother-in-law Lily Tisher and sisters-in-law Deb, Kathy, Carmen, and Andrea, and their families. He was predeceased by his father-in-law Bert Tisher; sister-in-law Kirsten Candy; parents Leo Mustonen and Rhena Mustonen.
The family is grateful for the support given from friends and family.
No formal service will be held. Family and friends will honour him, each in their own way.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Red Cross. Please, donate blood if you are able.
