So very sorry to hear of your great loss, Geraldine and family. My thoughts are with you at this time. I have fond memories of Darlene as a young student.
I first want to send my deepest sympathies to Darlene’s family. I was at her celebration of life earlier today but could not find the words to say at the right moment. I deeply regret this and would like to share now. I was a coworker of Darlene’s and her leadhand at Formashape for many years. What I’ll remember the most was the immense strength that this girl had. She battled so many things in life and was armed well and rose to the challenge. Although she had the makings of a wild warrior woman, she also had the heart of a goddess. She would be the first person to stand up to injustice and would also be the first person to stand up for the underdogs. Her heart, love and laughter would fill the room. She was also resilient beyond belief. She did women proud by standing firm for what she believed in, accomplishing so much that even men couldn’t achieve, and faced adversity with a smile on her face. She inspired me in so many ways, and I will remember her with the utmost respect. This was a very well raised young woman with incredible morals who was so profoundly proud of her family and friends. Darlene would exude passion and energy wherever she went, and I am proud as hell to have known her and to have worked alongside her for many years.
My deepest sympathies to all she left behind, and I hope that healing will find its way into all of our hearts.
Rest easy Angel,
Amanda Lauer
