NELSON, Robert Hannes
—
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Robert Hannes Nelson on August 12, 2015 at the age of 82. He is survived by his two daughters Laurelee Nelson (Don Debienne) and Cindy Rhodes (Brian). Robert will be greatly missed by his six grandchildren, Jennifer Starling (Andrew), Melanie Brandt (Paul), Chelsea Zeman (Jesse), Ashley Kratzer (Jarrett), Cory Davy (Allyssa Grant), Thomas Welder (Kirsty Ganzini), great-grandchildren Ryder, Baylee, Sadie, Piper, Crofton, Clay, Grayson, Brixtyn and Aniston, brother Jack (Donna) of Wilkie, SK, brother-in-law Bob Stockton of Cochrane, AB and numerous nieces and nephews. Sadly, Robert is predeceased by his wife Doris, son Garth and sister Joy-Anne Stockton.
To his family and friends, Bob will be remembered for his perseverance in pursuing his dreams—and he always dreamed big! He taught his children the importance of family, and never to give up on their dreams.
The family would like to thank the staff at Cottonwoods for their compassionate care and attention. Bob made many friends during his stay there. He always had a smile and a twinkle in his eye for everyone. A special thanks goes to his friend, Teri Laboucan.
Private family graveside service will be held with a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kelowna General Hospital Foundation, 2268 Pandosy Street, Kelowna, BC V1Y 1T2 www.kghfoundation.com or BC Alzheimer Society, 1664 Richter Street, Kelowna, BC V1Y 8N3 www.alzheimerbc.org.
