We Remember

NERPIN, Holly Belinda

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Holly Belinda Nerpin, 31. She passed peacefully and suddenly in Kelowna, BC after a courageous two-week battle. She was born in Marathon, Ontario on August 14, 1992. She spent the past 15 years of her life in Kelowna with her family. She loved listening to music, reading romance novels, playing video games, and was known as a fashionista. Although she may have considered herself an introvert, she was a natural comedian and could make anyone laugh at any moment. She often expressed herself through music, and no genre was off-limits. She spent her childhood travelling with her family across Canada, adventuring to many summer camps and amusement parks and enjoyed riding horses. Even though she was the youngest of five, she was fearless and could convince her older siblings to go on roller coasters and 230 ft drop zone rides. She took her first girls’ road trip with her older sister, Brittany from British Columbia to Nevada, USA back in the summer of 2008 and they listened to all of their favourite jams over their 16-hour adventure together.

Holly was a very special soul who faced many challenges throughout her young life. In the words of her mother, “Holly was always sweet and kind to anyone, she was a good girl despite the obstacles she faced”. She loved animals, especially cats and horses. She spent many hours reading her favourite books over and over and enjoyed watching historical drama shows, specifically, “Troy”, “The Vikings” and “The Last Kingdom”. She spent her early years in Marathon where she met some of her closest friends and her first love. She later moved to the Okanagan with her mother and two sisters and quickly became the light in many others’ lives. She was passionate about acting and modelled at a young age. One of Holly’s favorite quotes was, “Make jokes. Be weird. Laugh a lot. Live life at full volume. Normal is boring.”

Holly was loved fiercely by her parents and four siblings. She is survived by her father, Bruce Nerpin; mother, Gwendolyn I. Nerpin; two sisters, Gwendolyn P. Nerpin, and Brittany (Max) Wrixon; and two brothers, Ansley Reynolds, and Andrew (Erika) Nerpin; nephew Odin Nerpin; niece, Annika Nerpin; plus tons of family and friends who love her and will miss her immensely.

A special note from her mother and father; “Princess Holly, Mommy and Daddy love you immeasurably.”

Rest in Peace. We all love you, Holly.
