We Remember
NEUGEBAUR, Elsie Katherine
May 27, 1925 — October 31, 2021
With great sadness, we announce the loss of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. On October 31, 2021, Elsie Neugebaur passed away peacefully, at the age of 96.
Elsie and her late twin brother, Ernie, were born in Govan, SK, to John & Katherine Haus. Elsie met Harry Neugebaur, and they married on May 3, 1947, they took over the Neugebaur Family Farm in Saskatchewan. Family was everything to Elsie, she was sweet, kind, and never forgot a birthday or anniversary. She was also hardworking, even after she and Harry retired to Kelowna, BC in 1979, she became a dedicated volunteer for the Ladies Auxiliary at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26 (Kelowna). When she wasn’t giving her time to others, she enjoyed fishing and camping, if she was at home she loved to bake.
Elsie goes to join her family that has gone before her: her parents John & Katherine Haus; brothers Albert, Ernie, Harold, and Lorne; sisters Alma and Irene; and her dear granddaughter Sandra. Those she leaves to mourn include her loving husband of 74 years, Harry; her children Murray, Marilyn (John) Pawelko, and Rodney (Jan); her grandchildren Josh, Jeff (Trisha), Cory (Mandy), Seth, Audrey (Chris), Tim (Lara), John Jr., Brett (Sarah), Tyler (David), Chaydyn, and Keigan; her great-grandchildren Julia, Nikolas, Jakob, Sam, Emily, Stephen, Catherine, Brett, Beatrix, and Burton; and her great-great-grandchild, Wynter. She will also be remembered by her siblings Herb (Bernice) Haus, Marlene Wilson, and Ken (Earleen) Haus; her sisters-in-law Hilda Bastin, Marlene Haus, and Marilyn Butler; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Elsie’s love and affection will be dearly missed.
We wish to express our gratitude to the staff & management of the Concorde Retirement Residence, as well to the Regency Retirement Resort, both in Penticton.

Our sincerest condolences to you Grandpa, of the loss of your best friend of over 74 years.
We will all hold a special place in our hearts for grandma Elsie.
I will never forget the timeless memories of your incomparable baking, which if you weren’t paying attention, would get snuck into personal containers mysteriously. I will always remember the soaps I watched with you although only in kindergarten, working on puzzles together, helping with baking, eating from the stacks of pre-buttered toast with slices of tomato. And of course, your famous caramel dumplings. Memories of you will carry on with all of us. You were a wonderful loving grandma. We love you forever.
Cory, Mandy and Emily
