We Remember
NICKEL, Jo Anne
—
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Jo Anne Nickel, sister, mom, and aunt, passed peacefully on January 17, 2022. She is survived by her daughters Reegan (Michael), Paula (Don); her grandchildren Lakatie, Brett (Kirsten), and Shane (Ashley); her siblings James (Marge), Gwen (Marvin), and Dwight (Sandra); her nieces and nephews Michael, Joseph (Karen), Tim (Lorraine), Therese (David), David (Susanne), Jillian (Aaron), and Chris (Christine); and numerous great-nieces and -nephews.
Jo Anne loved to golf and always looked forward to ladies night golfing, as well as watching her Roughriders and dissecting each game afterwards. She had an amazing sense of humour and genuine love of her friends and family.
We all know that nothing compares to the love she had for her grandchildren. From early on, they knew Nana had their back, no matter what they had done. She was so proud of them and enjoyed every moment she could spend with them.
A Memorial Service will be held on FRIDAY, JANUARY 28, 2022 AT 1:00 PM (PST), at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. Masks are required. If you are unable to attend in person, please join the family online by Livestream (see below), a recording will be made available to view shortly thereafter.
Dear Paula, Reegan and families: Our sincerest condolences to you all. JoAnn was an amazing friend, co-worker and coffee buddy. I have great memories of working with her and have had many wonderful lunches since retirement. We are all going to miss her very much. Sorry we weren’t able to attend the service but watched it lifestream. Our prayers are with you all.
We are so sorry that we could not be with you in person today. Know that you are in our hearts.
