We Remember

NICU, Petru “Peter”

Within hours after performing his duty as a citizen of British Columbia by exercising his right to vote, Peter Nicu passed away peacefully at Cottonwoods Extended Care Centre.  He was a World War II veteran, a brilliant machinist, a passionate musician as well as a loving, sharing and caring human being.  Peter was the “Father of Ogopogo” – At the request of the City of Kelowna he engineered and built an amphibious mechanical Ogopogo, which was presented for many years in Kelowna parades.  Peter will be fondly remembered by Elsie, Kay, Mike, Nadia, Ray and many, many other dear friends.  There will be a time of visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 18th, followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.  If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Share Your Condolences.”
