We Remember
NIKODYM, Jaroslav “Jerry”
—
Jerry was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia on June 17, 1944, the most beautiful city in the world with the best beer. He defected to Canada in 1968 with his young bride, Jaroslava “Jerry” and baby Radka. Loving husband, devoted grandfather, father, big brother, uncle, friend and all around great man – “Papa” is dearly missed. Papa was a plumber by trade, a comedian in spirit and a family man at heart. He loved life, classical music (especially André Rieu), nature, people and he enjoyed every moment spent with family, especially his grandsons. He was sad to not make his 50th wedding anniversary on October 21, 2017 and was very grateful of his life-long partner. Dad kept the jokes going right up to the end and would want everyone to know, “There are only two kinds of Czechs…the good ones and the gooder ones.”
We love you forever and ever, this is not and will never be good-bye!
Jerry is survived by his loving wife Jerry Nikodym; daughters Radka and Michelle; son Marcel; grandchildren: Deryn, Trevor, Andrew and his sister Milena Nikodymorá -Fischel of Germany. Predeceased by Eduard Nikodym and Marie Nikodymorá.

Both Jerry and Jerry were the best Resident Managers I have ever known and people still talk fondly of you here. Mr. Jerry was always so helpful; had a kind heart and great spirit. Loved to chat. Sharing the afternoon with the entire family at an Okanagan Symphony Event was one of my fondest memories of being accepted by the entire family. Mr. Jerry you will be missed!
