We Remember

NUGENT, Kevin John “T-Bone”

September 19, 1954 — September 23, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin John Nugent at the age of 71. Kevin passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, after recovering from surgery. He joined his wife, Kathleen Ann, on what would have been her 67th birthday, as well as his parents Edith and John, brother Mark, and Uncle Paddy, for all eternity.

Kevin was born on September 19, 1954, to Edith and John Nugent in Birmingham, England. Kevin and his family moved to Canada in 1957, first residing in Trail, BC. Kevin spent most of his life there, playing soccer and other sports, adventuring with his brothers and sisters, working on his cars, watching his team, the Trail Smoke Eaters, and going on hunting and camping trips with his friends. He met his wife Kathleen Ann Endersby at Doug and Emmy’s place, by surprise one night, with a tennis racquet in hand.

After they fell in love, Kevin asked Kathy’s parents, Allan and Agnes Endersby, for their blessing, and later got married on May 27, 1978. With the arrival of Tyanna Louise in March 1979, Heidi Leeanne in November 1980, and Allan John Patrick in June 1983, Kevin and Kathy decided to move their family to Genelle, BC, and then eventually to Robson, BC, in 1986. In Robson, Kevin joined the Robson Volunteer Fire Department and went on to serve with them for over 20 years. Even after he retired from the hall, Kevin was always a part of the department in one way or another. He enjoyed the Friday night bowling league with Kathy, playing softball with the fire department team with his son, and camping and fishing trips with his daughters. Kevin had a great sense of humour and was always cracking jokes. He was a kind and loving father, always there when his children needed him and always ready to help out anyone in need. He spent most of his early years working at Teck Cominco until his retirement in 2009. After his retirement, he spent time camping and travelling around BC with Kathy, and making trips to see his children and grandchildren. In his free time, you could find Kevin helping out at the fire hall, attempting to get a perfect game at the bowling alley, trying to catch that big one down by his favorite fishing spot, or simply relaxing at home beside the fire.

Kevin’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Emmy and Doug McLaren for their help over the past few years, getting Kevin to his appointments, keeping him on his toes, and being there to share stories together.

Kevin is survived by his eldest daughter, Tyanna, and her children Jace, Kaden, and Katt; his daughter Heidi, and her child Gage; and his son Allan and his wife Jolyne. Kevin also leaves behind his sisters Linda (Larry) and Jackie, and brother Wayne (Margaret), and nieces Misty, Megan, Kristen, Candice, Hailey, nephew Ian, and countless extended family members and friends.

Kevin was peacefully cremated on Sept 29, 2025, in Kelowna, BC, in a private ceremony with family by his side. Kevin was a loyal husband, a loving father, and a caring friend. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
