We Remember
OLIVER, Barry
September 4, 1961 — March 21, 2021
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that Barry passed away peacefully in Kelowna while surrounded by family at the age of 59.
Born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, the family moved to Mission City, then to Kelowna, Barry moved to the Lower Nicola Valley, then eventually settling back in Kelowna.
Throughout his life, Barry fostered many interests such as a love of motorcycles; dogs, chevy trucks, and girls. He was also a true collector of all Coca-Cola memorabilia.
While he struggled with myotonic dystrophy, anyone lucky enough to meet Barry would know he was a kind, easy-going man and a good friend.
Barry is survived by his loving mother, Hazel Leigh; his siblings Brian, Bruce, Bill, Brent, David Leigh, and Shelley Taylor; he was close to his uncle Bill and aunt Val; and numerous other nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Barry was predeceased by his father, Wayne Oliver, and his step-father, Frank Leigh.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, no formal memorial service will take place; however, the family plans to take a trip back to Lloydminster, to lay Barry to rest with his father.
Always in our hearts,
Always on our mind,
You will be with us forever.

Very saddened to hear of Barry’s passing, we were good friends growing up in Kelowna. He taught me how to ride a 2 stroke – so many great memories of dirt biking all over Knox Mountain and the orchard by our house, though I have not seen him in many years, I often wondered how he was. Great times riding and chasing girls lol rest in peace old friend till we meet again.
I am very sorry for your loss and wish your family strength during this difficult time.
