We Remember
OSHAWAY, Sherley Diane Kosowan Oshaway (née Andrayko)
December 24, 1947 — August 3, 2020
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother Sherley Diane Kosowan Oshaway (née Andrayko) on August 3, 2020, of natural causes at home in Kelowna, BC at the age of 72.
Born on December 24, 1947, to Joseph and Eileen Andrayko of Selkirk, Manitoba, Sherley is survived by her three children Robert, Craig and Tami; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and former husband and special friend Ken Oshaway.
Her journey through the Western provinces led her to the Okanagan where she fell in love with and settled in Kelowna in 1985.
In her working years, Sherley was a bookkeeper when she wasn’t following her entrepreneurial spirit.
Sherley was born again on August 27, 1983, and found peace in her faith and beliefs. One of her favourite verses was John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”
Our mom’s bubbly exuberance will be missed.
By Sherley’s request, there will be no service. If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory please scroll down the page to the area called “Condolences”.
Hi, I met your parents when they lived beside my parents (Max and Joan) in the Sandringham complex in Kelowna in the 1990’s. I remember your Mom as being very bubbly. She was always warm and kind to my family, I and anyone who came to visit while I visited my parents. My parents spoke fondly of your Mom and your Dad over the years, May God’s peace & comfort rest upon you during this time of mourning.
I also wish to pass along my condolences to Shirley’s family and friends on her passing. I’ve known Shirley for 32 years. To this day I still appreciate the motherly guidance she gave me in my youth. I always felt that she was on my side.
